Don’t get surprised with the Heading; yes it’s true that I got a chance to meet the GOD. Who is GOD? According to me GOD is the supreme power who is always there to help all the helpless people? Similarly there is a couple who is always there to look after individuals who are sick, disabled, forlorn, suffering and deserted by mankind. In our society we people have created an environment where there is no place for the individuals who are sick, disabled, diseased persons no one wants to touch, disabled who are not admitted in to any of the hospital and are left to die on the roadside. They all are the burden of our society but who is to look after them? This couple (Dr B.M. Bharadwaj & Dr Madhuri Bharadwaj) has taken the responsibility of all these people. They came forward and founded a society called “Apna Ghar” for these people. It is called Apna Ghar as it a spiritual place which provides home with all services required for homeless, helpless, deprived, sick and mentally ill persons irrespective of distinction of religious, caste or creed. It is situated in village Bajhera on Agra road which is 8 Km from Bharatpur (Rajasthan).
For the last 7-8 months my daddy is celebrating all the happy moments at this ashram with these people. Be it his BDay or his grandson’s Bday Whenever he came back after visiting this ashram he feel relaxed and always tells me the story of this couple and their work for the society. So I was also curious to visit the place. Last Thursday was my nephew’s first birthday and my dad planned a visit to this place and had lunch there. As I was there in Bharatpur only that day so I accompanied him along with my sister & nephew. We reached there at 11:00 am. When we visit such places then we have a certain picture, questions in our mind. Like what will be the reaction of the people, will they attack us, how cool will be the environment blah blah blah…..
There I met the founders of this ashram. They took us to see the ashram. They explained each & every thing. When I saw the ambience over there I was shocked. They have created an environment where these sick persons would never face and lost their life in harsh painful situation for the lack of help and medical care. They told us that this ashram only look after their medical care but also focuses on all the activities of daily living like brushing teeth, washing, getting dressed, toilet training, nutrition. Every room is shared by two people, every individual have his own bed. The hygienic & nutritious food is served for these people. In this ashram 117 inmates are being served and total capacity of the ashram is 140 as of now. There is no discrimination among the people on any basis. Everybody is treated equally.
Then Dr Uncle told us that it’s the time for the lunch of the inmates. So we reached the place where these people have lunch. I & my sister served the lunch for these people. When I was serving there were some tears in my eyes. I don’t know why, whether that was feeling of embarrassment that what we are doing for our society. Nothing. We all blame our government for this, that government should take some steps for these people but we should ask this to ourselves also that what we our doing. I know everybody cannot be like him but we can help all those who are serving our society by any mean. For me they are like GOD as they have dedicated their whole life for serving our society and helping the people.
In the end I would like to say respect old people at your place, love them. Do not discriminate on religious, caste or creed. Love everyone. Remember that A Smile Is a Curve That Straightens Most Things
